Last night Little Soldier received Film London’s 2015 London Calling Jury Award Special Mention at the British Film Institute, where emerging talent from all over the capital was on showcase. 21 short films were screened for the prestigious London Calling and London Calling Plus Awards.
The Jury said: “This film has been carefully-rendered, with strong direction and superb acting throughout. It was refreshing to see a short which captured its council estate setting’s sense of community, rather than viewing it through a negative lens.”

After its initial success with cinema audiences at Mexico City’s Cineteca,  the feature documentary The Flicker (El destello) receives an extended commercial run with three daily shows between the 6 and 11 of June 2015. Produced by Anna Jancsó, directed by Gabriel Szollosy.

Miklós Jancsó’s world cinema classic The Round Up (Szegénylegények), will be showcased as part of the 2015 Cannes Classic lineup. Miklós Jancsó, called one of ‘cinema’s immortals’ by Sight&Sound, had a long history with the Cannes Film Festival. He passed away on 31 January 2014 at the age of 92.
